  • I am Pleased to announce that Lorraine Simpson of cosmopolitain Events will now be joining the Forth Bridges events team.   • After pulling out all the stops, we are happy to announce that one of the top, most respected bands will perform at the Forth Bridges Bike Festival.

  • WHEN GARY MET LIZZY

    Rock powerhouse 'When Gary Met Lizzy' bring together and celebrate two of classic rock's most influential legends, Thin Lizzy and Gary Moore, an explosive tribute act igniting stages across Britain and Europe.

    With a singer described as having the closest vocals to Phil Lynott and a guitarist stunning audiences in the style of Moore, this is one of the top tribute acts around.

  • After a sucsessful meeting this morning lasting almost two hours. here is the News.
 
  • First of all i am happy to announce the new logo design for our event which has been designed free of charge by the Bay Printing company, Dalgety Bay.  this is now also copyright protected by us.
 
  • We have also secured 4 live bands who will perform at the event, these are four well established bands who have played at various festivals over the years and who cover a wide varity of music to keep you all entertained. a full size stage will also be erected for the bands to play from with a full lighting set to really get you all in the mood, add to this we have also secured the service of one of the best sound engineers in the business (NAZARETH). we are also awaiting conformation of two further bands and we will keep you all posted as soon as we know.
 
  • We also hope to include a large number of bouncy castles, slides and various other attractions to keep the younger generation entertained.
 
  • Tricia Sutton is now putting together a list of various types of accomodation and will be speaking to them to try and accomodate those who will be attending form further afield.
 
  • We are pleased to announce that both the Widows Sons Scotland and the Dinglys have agreed to help sponsor our Event for the Forth Bridges Motorbike Rally on the 7th September 2014 as part of the Forth Bridges 50 year celebrations.

    This is once again another major step for us in helping provide great experience for all taking part, either riding a bike in the parade, or as a spectator showing your support for a great cause.

    The widows Sons Scotland

    Widows Sons Scotland Masonic Riders Association (WSSMRA) comprised of Freemasons (Master Masons of good standing). And are a totally independent from the international organisation known as The Widows Sons MRA. The purpose of the WSS is to provide a social and fraternal outlet for Scottish Freemasons who ride motorcycles and desire to socialise with and travel the open roads with their brethren.

    The basic outline of who we are and what we do. WSS is not a specific motorcycle club or manufacturer focused association and we endeavour to be fully inclusive making people aware that Freemasons ride bikes and raise much needed funds for charity.

    This is a very friendly group that actively endeavours to arrange ride-outs and events with the objective to raise much-needed funds primarily for chosen Scottish charities, with a focus on supporting the designated charities and care homes of The Grand Lodge of Scotland (GLoS). During the year we will endeavour to organise many different events appealing to all our members.

    Dinglys

    Are a group of people from all walks of life who share the one common interest of motorcycling.

    The Dinglys were formed in 2007 by a few individuals from Edinburgh.
    Since it’s beginning it has steadily grown in numbers due to the friendly attitude of it’s members and with over 90 members to date, we’re still growing.
    Whether you like riding in a group or with a few friends. Dancing like no one is watching or singing like no one is listening, then this is the place to be with wonderful experiences and great friends.

    Myself at the team here once again would like to thank you all for your support.
  • We are pleased to announce that SNT shower and pump services have now come on-board and will also assist us through sponsorship and advertising....Their company vehicle will travel throughout the country with a custom made decal helping to advertise the event for us also...thank you so much from myself and the team.

 

  • Limited Edition bottle of whiskey now up for raffle, signed and featuring a special label with Roxy Music singer Bryan Ferry after his performance in November 2013 at the Usher Hall, Edinburgh. tickets are priced at £1 per strip of five and can be purchased from Forth Gear Motorcycle Clothing in South Queensferry High Street.

  • Pleased to announce that the Amazing and outrageous Xena will be joining the parade rally with her show stopping bike and wagon.

 

  • Select 50. as part of the Forth Bridges Festival rally, a selection of 50 bikes only will be given the chance to have their bikes on show in South Queensferry for the public to view and to talk to members of the public. please send a picture of your bike and give details as to why you think you should be part of this selected group. email HERE

 

  • After talks with Jim Thomson of WTTR (war torn troops) it is great news to announce that the poppy Scotland bike will lead out the parade of bikes over the bridge for the festival rally. This not only is great news for us but it also helps raise the awareness of poppy Scotland. Big thanks to Jim for accepting the offer.

     

  • We are pleased to announce the support of Knockhill Racing Circuit on board and any rider wishing to take their bike around the famous circuit for three laps (under control of marshalls) at the cost of an additional £10 per bike with all money raised being donated to the Bridges Charities.

 

  • Three possible routes are now being discussed with the team and as soon as these are finalised with with the police and authorities we will be posting a detailed map for you all.

 

  • For anyone interested in helping us sponsor the ride out rally, a special sponsorship pack is now being prepared and we hope to be able to have these ready for early 2014.

 

  • A special limited edition malt whiskey bearing our very own Forth Bridges Festival logo will be going on raffle £1 per ticket..this is a one off and details will follow soon.

 

  • Plans are now underway to introduce an online payment system where registered users can make their donations.

 

  • any registered rider who wants to have a picture of their bike uploaded onto the website, please email a picture of your bike and breif description to cove50years@hotmail.co.uk a bike will be picked each month and a prize is up for grabs so get sending in a picture of your bike. (one bike picture per user)

  • After our meeting tonight, we are pleased to announce that Knockhill Racing circuit are keen to come on board and help us out with the Bridges Festival Rally. talks are currently on going and we hope to break more news to you regarding this within the next few weeks.This is a massive step forward for us and weare very pleased to have their support.

 

  • Two soap star celebrities from one of the top long running shows have agreed to take part in the Forth Festival Motorbike Rally 2014 and we are currently in talks with a third member. names will be posted at a later date, you will have a chance to have your pictures taken and autograph oppertunities.A couple of vehicles from the grampian transport museum will be on show at the event also
